RIM taking to Super Bowl airwaves with 30-sec BB10 ad spot
With Research In Motion (RIM)'s latest BlackBerry 10 (BB10)
platform scheduled for launch towards next week, the Canada-based company has
recently revealed that, amid its forthcoming week of BB10 launch activities, it
is taking to Super Bowl airwaves with a 30-second BB10 commercial.
According to RIM, the company will promote its new BB10 OS
to the millions of captive spectators of the Super Bowl event - the biggest
sporting event in the US - which will be held in New Orleans, La., on Sunday,
February 3.
RIM's tech-centric BB10 Super Bowl commercial will be aired
just a few days after the company's much-delayed official unveiling of its new
BB10 OS, and two accompanying smartphones which, as per reports, have been
dubbed BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry X10.
Along with the half-a-minute Super Bowl spot dedicated
completely to RIM's soon-to-be-released BB10 software, the company also makes a
marketing push for the OS on the two popular social networks, Facebook and
Twitter. All the efforts which the company is set to make for promoting the
BB10 platform will be viewable to consumers in Canada as well as the US.
About the 30-second BB10 Super Bowl ad, RIM's marketing
chief Frank Boulben said in a statement: "A Super Bowl commercial is a
great opportunity to show the re-designed, re-engineered and re-invented
BlackBerry to tens of millions of consumers on the largest advertising stage of
the year."
