Norovirus Prevalence Leads to closure of Resident Home
Te Wiremu House, a resident home in Gisborne is closed for last five days, as it was being confirmed for Norovirus outbreak. More than 12 people in the resident home were being diagnosed with the virus.
In fact, Dr Bruce Duncan, who is the Tairawhiti District Health medical officer, has said that the medical tests have been done and it has been verified that norovirus has caused the sickness.
He further affirmed that a lot many efforts have been done by the resident home to control the spread of the virus, which has also spread at Middlemore Hospital as well as in Tauranga Hospital, which are in Auckland.
Hospital authorities at Middlemore Hospital were of the view that they have to take all the possible precautions, as even minute mistake can enhance problem. The hospital authorities said that not only general public, but even hospital staff has been getting diagnosed with the virus. Three staff members have been diagnosed with norovirus.
It has been further revealed that they have kept one ward for patients, who have been suffering from norovirus. They have done so to isolate the disease, as earlier there were not much division, but considering the severity of the matter, they did so.
