Rising Health Insurance Cost; New Rules Decided
Very soon, the premiums for health insurance will be increased by
€200, as the government is all set to release few new rules in regard of risk
equalization.
Presently, under the temporary risk equalisation scheme, an adult
owing health insurance pays a temporary levy of €285 and in case of children it
is amounted as €95. This scheme doesn't charge much amount from the older
people for owing health insurance.
But according to a recent report released today, now the government
has decided to introduce certain new, equal and permanent rules for all. This
set of regulations will come into effect from January onwards. And under this,
a family with two adults and two children will be liable to pay premiums with
an increase of €200.
Apart from this, there will be four different rate categories: for
adults, children, those covered for public hospitals only and the last group
will consist of people that are benefited with private hospital plans.
In recent months, people have already experienced a sequence of
premium hikes by many insurers. And with this increase, there are fears that a
large number of people might get themselves out of the health insurance market.
Health insurance is important but not at the cost of our daily
needs.
