Ohio’s Black Bear Population on a Significant Rise
Do not panic if you see black bear in the Bedford, as its
population has increased by five times in last 10 years, said Ohio's Division
of Wildlife. They further affirmed that the number of sighting of black bear
has increased and credit for the same should go to the increasing population of
the same.
If they are not wrong then there are 100 black beers in the
region. It is not that the bears are imported species, but they are among
those, which used to be quite prevalent in Ohio. Wildlife officials were of the
view that they have seen a lot many cubs and female bears and this predicts the
population is going to increase in near future.
However, there was a time when the population of black bears
was on a sharp decline. Two main reasons for the same were deforestation and
land clearance activities, which were prevalent in 1850’s in Ohio. Now, a lot
many changes have come and its result is clear from the growing population of
bears.
Ohio's Division of Wildlife instructed that if one sees a
bear then they should leave the place rather than agitating. They are quite
afraid of humans, so no action should be taken against them.
